AmaWaterway's Taste of Bordeaux River Cruise
Now that we have explored the town of Bordeaux, let’s take a peek at the other stops on a Bordeaux River Cruise. First up is Libourne.
Nestled in the heart of the renowned Bordeaux wine region, Libourne effortlessly blends its storied past with a welcoming atmosphere that will make you feel right at home. Imagine leisurely strolling along the banks of the Dordogne River, absorbing the timeless beauty of this enchanting locale. Rich tales of merchant traders from centuries ago speak from the cobbled streets, while the vibrant market squares buzz with contemporary life and joie de vivre.
Then we move on to Blaye and Bourg. These charming villages are close enough to easily ride a bike from one to another. A great way to see, smell and feel the beauty around you.
Moving on to Cussac Fort Medoc, you can visit the fort and see how life was lived at that time. It is the twin cite of the citadelle of Blaye. Once there, the views of the surrounding area are magnificent. Nearby is the Margaux Vineyard to explore.
Finally, in Cadillac, you can enjoy the Roquetaillade Castle. This castle is situated on a rocky spur. Underneath are caves that have been used by people since prehistoric times. Truly an area rich in history.
